Follow Up

Well I went for my bone scan on the 19th of February. It wasn't has scary an experience as I though it would be. I got to the clinic and the took the half cast off and injected me with a radioactive dye - no I did not glow green or anything! They then had me rest my hands on a table wich had a camera underneath and took some pictures to see how the blood flows in my body. I had 2 1/2 hours to kill so I sat in a little cafe and had breakfast and read a book (The Vampire Diaries) I went back to the clinic at the scheduled time and they took me to a dfferent room and again I put my hands on this table thing and the tech had me putting my hands in different positions one word for that - OUCH!! It isn't fun at all to have to hold your sore wrist in one position for three minutes. It was neat to see my bones on the screen though. The tech said that I wouldn't get the results until the 24th at least (in otherwards today)

Friday the 20th I got home from work and there was a message on my phone that I needed to go call the clinic. I called and the unit clerk said that I needed to book a follow up appointment I asked if they had the results of my bone scan and she said yes and that they are booking follow ups 2 weeks away and that I should just come in and wait to see a dr. Needless to say Friday night I did not sleep well at all cause I was so worried since they called so quickly saying they had the results.

Saturday the 21st my wonderful roommate Lacy dropped me off at the clinic and I waited a couple of hours to get in. The nurse camdue and got me and took off the half cast and did the usual poking and prodding and it hurt. She then proceeds to say oh so your here for another xray and I say no I'm here to get the results of my bone scan, she looks in my chart and says we don't have any results here. I was not impressed thinking i've just wasted my saturday morning doing this. Well they did find the results and it turns out that the wrist is definitly broken but not where they thought 'cause the stupid drs were xraying the wrong part of my wrist. So finally after THREE WEEKS I have a positive answer and a real cast on my arm. I go back again in three weeks. So far things look great the swelling in my fingers has gone down a lot.

A gift from me to you!

I saw this on my friend Kathy's blog and thought it would be fun. Also interesting to see who are the first 5!
The first 5 people to respond to this post will receive something made by me to you....my choice...made especially for you.Of course there are some restrictions and limitations:
1 I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2 What I create will be just for you.
3 It will be done sometime this year.
4 You have no clue what it will be... it may be a story; it may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something; I may bake something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that's for sure.
5 I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh, the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog (Only if you really want to. I will still make you something). The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!!

Lesson Learned

Well just over two weeks ago I was coming home from work and walked around the corner to see the bus sitting at the stop which is at a red light so I thought okay I'll run for it and not have to wait for another 1/2 hour downtown in the dark on a friday night. Well that plan didn't work out so well I ran and ended up slipping and falling. I got up and the bus driver waited for me and everyone was asking me if I was okay I of course brushed it off because I was embaressed. I got home and iced my hand and knee and figured it was okay. Saturday my hand was really sore and swollen so I called my boss who brought me a wrist brace to try. I wore it saturday and on the Sunday but my hand was still VERY swollen I finally decided to go to the urgent care clinic in downtown calgary and my wonderful visiting teacher/neighbour drove me and picked me up. I spent four hours down there and got xrays etc. When I left I was and still am sporting this lovely cast, they think that I may have a broken scaffoid bone however it doesn't usually show up on xrays. At this point I have had 2 sets of xrays and the drs still haven't found anything. I'm scheduled to go for a bone scan on thursday morning. So the moral of the story is don't run for the bus in the winter when its icy outside.
